What About After Your Event?
You’ve spent hours pouring over Pinterest and perfecting every detail. Your guests were thrilled. The event went perfectly, the food was delicious. Now, the musicians are packing up, the catering staff is clearing the tables and the photographer is putting away their gear. Only one thing that hasn’t been taken care of – your flowers.
You spent thousands of dollars selecting just the right flowers. They matched the vibe of your theme, but now what are you going to do with 15 centerpieces and assorted other arrangements? Without a plan for these gorgeous arrangements, sadly they will end up in a dumpster next to plates of half-eaten cake and wadded up napkins. You have a few other options, however.
Let your guests take arrangements home. It will extend your event and let guests enjoy the beauty of your florals for days. Still have flowers left? Offer them to your vendors. Many of them enjoy having a pretty arrangement to take home after a long evening.
Another popular option is to donate your flowers. We work with a local chapter of Random Acts of Flowers, a non-profit organization that repurposes flowers into arrangements for patients and residents of nursing homes and hospitals. Donating your flowers allows them to brighten the day of others in your community. In addition, your donation may be tax deductible.
Want to preserve your flowers? Check out Olive Branch Studios, who does amazing work pressing bouquets and turning them into gorgeous art that can hang in your home as a reminder of your wedding.
Make a plan for your flowers after the event before the event starts. Speak with your florist and/or event coordinator and let them know what you would like done with your gorgeous flowers after the party is over.
