Using Pinterest for Wedding Florals
So, you’re getting married? Congratulations! It can be so exciting and overwhelming, can’t it? You are suddenly drowning in a sea of information, questions and decision making that can feel like a lot.
A huge (and, we admit, our favorite) part of wedding planning is your florals.
When we meet with brides, we find that they fall into two camps: they’ve been planning their wedding since they married Ken and Barbie in the backyard of the Barbie Dream House and show up to meetings with a tabbed and indexed three ring binder. OR, they know they want flowers but they aren’t sure what type or what style.
Lately, however, we’ve encountered a third type of bride – the Pinterest Bride.
We confess – we love us some Pinterest. We have discovered some great recipes, decorating ideas and party ideas. When it comes to wedding flowers, however, sometimes we think Pinterest misses the mark.
Many brides start with a color scheme for their wedding and head to Pinterest for inspiration. The problem? While the pictures you find on Pinterest are beautiful and a good starting point, they often give brides high expectations that do not always reflect reality. That gorgeous aisle lined with baby’s breath? It carries a hefty price tag that can run into the thousands. The showy blooms of garden roses that perfectly match your color scheme? They can double (or even triple) the average cost of your bouquet. Those luxurious tables covered in vines of greenery, with whimsical flowers tucked in between gorgeous vintage candle holders are beautiful but not budget-friendly.
That’s where Galileo’s comes in!
Our wedding packages are custom built just for you. We love sitting down over a cup of tea and hearing about your wedding vision so we can create the perfect floral plan to add color, elegance and beauty.
How can you prepare for a meeting with your florist?
Bring your Pinterest board ideas! They are a great starting point and can be helpful in determining shape, style and colors for your florals. Want some inspiration? Check out our Pinterest board!
Bring your list of people who will need flowers! We have a list to help you get started, but determining ahead of time if you’re doing flowers In Memorium or want to do corsages for grandmothers will help us give you a more accurate estimate of cost.
Bring your creative ideas! Want something unusual instead of traditional flowers? We are here for it! Whether you want to get married under an arch of hanging flowers or you want a flower-lined stroller for your cat ring bearer, we love when people express their creativity through flowers.
Bring your personal touches! When one of our brides wanted to honor her father who recently passed away, we wrapped her bouquet in his tie, allowing her to have a piece of him with her as she walked down the aisle. We are happy to incorporate the special touches that make your wedding unique, and are happy to brainstorm with you!

Bring your ceremony and reception layout. We can suggest additional ways to add floral touches that will help bring your event together.
Bring your budget. Many brides often have no idea of their floral budget and that is perfectly ok. We are happy to help you build a beautiful floral package that fits your needs. When you know your budget in advance, however, we are able to give you a better idea of the type of flowers and arrangements that will work.
We understand – flowers are expensive. We want to help you achieve the wedding look you want, and maximize your budget to ensure that not a flower is wasted.
